Steppin' it up for the environment

Brianna Nagel, Renee Schreider and Kamini Jorgensen from Henniker at the rally.

From Kally Abrams J, Step It Up 2007 Concord co-coordinator:

The Concord, NH rally attendees endured the cold, dreary clouds and wind as they united to walk for climate change all sharing the same message: “2% a year for the next 40 years will get us a reduction in carbon emission equal to 80% by 2050”.

As they reached the NH State Capital they were greeted by several guest speakers and organizations that all share a common concern and goal.

Doris Granny D. Haddock gave a moving talk about keeping our eye on the big blue ball (planet earth) and that it is our responsibility to take care of it.

NHTI students spend vacation helping others

From NHTI's Richard Osborne:

During last month’s spring break – when many college students were partying – a group from New Hampshire Technical Institute’s (NHTI) “Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Club” spent five days in Pass Christian, Mississippi, a small town about an hour east of New Orleans. They worked with AmeriCorps St. Louis, a national organization that has spearheaded a massive volunteer effort to rebuild one of the Gulf Coast’s most hurricane-damaged cities. Almost 18 months after Hurricane Katrina hit, there was still a list of over 900 repairs and other work to be done in Pass Christian.
