Boy's Night Cuisine - Sloppy Doughs

My wife works on Wednesday and Thursday nights, and that's what my two sons consider "Boys Night!". Here is a "recipe" the three of us came up with one night. It has been a staple of boys night ever since.

  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • Sloppy Joe Mix or Prego Spaghetti Sauce
  • Shredded Cheese (Chedda makes it Betta!)
  • 2 cans of refrigerator biscuits

Preheat oven to 375-400

Brown the ground beef and drain. Mix the sauce or sloppy joe mix into the ground beef. While you are preparing the meat filling, the kids can open the biscuits. Their favorite part is when the container POPS open. Have them flatten out 10 biscuits onto a cookie sheet.

Spoon the meat onto the buscuits, leaving room around the edges. Sprinkle on some cheese. Flatten the other 10 biscuits and put them on top of the filling, pressing/pinching the edges of the top an bottoms together.

Put in oven and bake until you've broken up 2 arguments, and the kids have spilled one drink, or until light brown on top (the biscuits, not the kids).

Take out the oven, let cool for as long as you can stand it, and serve. Remind the children for the 700th time, that the middle WILL BE HOT!

This is the perfect way to slide in a broccoli side dish, as the kids are too distracted by the joy of cooking to even care.
