N.H. trails + camera = photo exhibit
A new exhibit at the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests opens with a reception on Friday, Aug. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit features nature photography by Godfrey Sluder of Kingston. The collection includes photos from the Swett Mountain Forest easement in Gilford, the McCabe Forest in Antrim, the Freedom Town Forest, Dudley Pond in Deering and other New Hampshire properties.
Sluder’s exhibit is not focused solely on brilliant sunsets and magnificent mountains. It includes pictures of mushrooms, leaves and swamps – ordinary objects of nature that many might just walk by in too much of a hurry to notice.
The exhibit runs Aug. 20 to Sept. 28 and can be viewed at The Conservation Center, 54 Portsmouth St. The exhibit is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call ahead to confirm availability, as the gallery space is used for meetings and other functions. For more information call 224-9945.
